“Lend your ears to music, open your eyes to painting, and… stop thinking! Just ask yourself whether the work has enabled you to ‘walk about’ into a hitherto unknown world. If the answer is yes, what more do you want?”

– Wassily Kandinsky, Concerning the Spiritual in Art, 1910

Art’s capacity to lift us up, to transcend the everyday, to encourage magic and mystery, to provide a transportive experience is explored through this carefully curated group of works. Their ability to take the viewer to other worlds, to access alternate realms of experience through an aesthetic portal permits us to witness art’s potential to expand our conscious experience. The works chosen have a dream-like quality, allowing us to take a break from these unprecedented times; to meditate, to contemplate, to escape in luxurious colour, sumptuous textures, bold materials and beguiling subjects.
