Egg Swing is a beautiful and practical piece of art, designed to be enjoyed by the young, and the young at heart.
Artist Mikala Dwyer has created an interactive sculpture referencing the idea of motherhood and fertility. Egg Swing commemorates the history of the site of the old Royal Hospital for Women Hospital and invites the public to engage with the sculpture by swinging in the pink and red womb-like structure. The upright pole of Egg Swing is four metres high and is made of steel. The egg shaped seat for two is crafted from a foam epoxy/carbon fibre construction with a marine grade varnish finish.
