Fiona Hall is one of Australia’s leading contemporary artists. She works across a broad range of media including painting, photography, sculpture and installation, often employing the forms of museological display. Hall’s sculptures are characterised by their intricate construction and thematic resonance with issues of environmentalism, globalisation, war and conflict.

Tweet, (2014) is a hand painted German cuckoo clock that was exhibited in Hall’s solo presentation in the Australian Pavilion of the 56th Venice Biennale 2015 in an exhibition titled, Wrong Way Time. The ‘Twitter’ logo painted on the front of the clock reminds us of the global reach that social media channels achieve as a platform of broadcast for politicians on the world stage.
